Sigourney Community School District

Dear Parents and Guardians, The elementary school has been given approval by the fire marshal for student occupancy. However, the boiler room has a couple of non-fire related code needs. (doors) This work will be completed by the end of the day Friday. For this reason, the District (K-12) will start school on Monday, August 26, 2024. It will be an Early Out at 1:30 PM. Again, there is no school this Friday, August 23, 2024. Thanks for your patience. The building looks great! It is nice to know all safety aspects are complete. Thank you! Mr. Hatfield

A reminder that on Sunday, August 4th from 3:00-4:00 we will be taking pictures for the senior banners at the Jr./Sr. High School. All upcoming seniors involved in any extra curricular activities will need to attend. Cost is $40 per banner. If you are unable to pay, please let Mrs. Webb know and she will take care of it. Our Sigourney Savage Baseball Team will take on Lynnville-Sully Monday, July 22 at 1:30 pm at Merchants Park in Carroll, Iowa. 2024 STATE BASEBALL SPECTATOR INFORMATION: ADMISSION Tickets for all games are $10 each, plus fees, and available exclusively through the IHSAA Tickets page: https://www.iahsaa.org/tickets/ - Tickets are good all day at each site. - All seating is general admission, with ADA space available upon request. - Tickets are not required for children under school age at IHSAA state tournament events. - Gates open to spectators one hour prior to the first game start time in each session. Class of 2025 Media Day!

We invite all Sigourney Youth Baseball teams to a night at the ballpark on Friday, June 28. The High School Baseball teams will take on PCM Mustangs, varsity plays first at 5:30 pm, JV to follow. Wear your jersey to the game for free entry, adults still need to pay. All players will be introduced between Varsity and JV game.

Dear Stakeholders, We're excited to share that the start of our summer projects are well underway. We have attached photos from the first week of progress. The construction companies have already made substantial progress on the infrastructure improvements at elementary building. We are installing an modern irrigation system at the football field, while also addressing drainage concerns. Please check the district website for progress throughout the summer .

Congratulations to Julie Tremmel and Crystal Stoner on retirement! Julie taught for 30 years and Crystal for 26. Thank you ladies for all your years of service! We will miss you at Sigourney Elementary!
