The District is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Lonnie Bell Sr. Our hearts are heavy from this news. We honor the life and legacy of Lonnie Bell, our wonderful school bus driver, who passed away recently.

For 27 years, Lonnie was more than just the person driving a bus for us, he was a steady presence, a warm smile on cold mornings, and a comforting voice that greeted every child with kindness. He was simply a wonderful person who cared deeply about our children and the district.

We extend our condolences to his family and loved ones, and we thank them for sharing such a remarkable person with our school community. Let's try to keep Lonnie’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and love going through our work each day.

May he rest in peace. His work and journey made a real difference.

On behalf of everyone in the SCSD, our condolences go out to Lonnie's family and friends.

The District will continue with its plans to hold the Homecoming Parade at 7 PM. Due to the volatility of the surrounding weather, we would like everyone to have a safety plan should a heavy rain or lightening become an issue. If that happens, we will move the Boom Night from Cobra Field to the Jr. Sr. High gym.
Thank you!
