Thank you all so much for entering the Sigourney Elementary Art Show! We have had close to 100 entrees! To all the students that entered, you will be receiving an RSVP this week to bring home. You can send back the slip, or just email me at: rebecca.shaw@sigourneyschools.com
The main reason for the RSVP is to know how many refreshments we need to provide! Family members are all welcome!

Dear Parents,
School districts recently learned of an anonymous, nationwide threat against schools that is being shared on social media outlets such as TikTok. The general threat toward all U.S. schools declares Friday, Dec. 17, as “American School Shooting Day.” The posts warn about the possibility of nationwide shootings or bomb threats associated with this day.
We have partnered with local law enforcement to vigilantly investigate whether there are any local connections to these social media posts. At this time, law enforcement has not acquired any evidence that would deem these threats as credible in our area. Out of an abundance of caution, our schools will be in contact with law enforcement throughout the day on Friday. At my request, additional patrols of our schools will be taking place.
Please take this opportunity to talk with your students about the appropriate use of social media, and the seriousness and resulting consequences of making any kind of threat. Encourage your students to speak with you or an adult at school if they see or hear something so immediate action can be taken. In addition, if anyone in our community sees something suspicious, please report it to the school immediately or call local law enforcement. We appreciate your support and partnership.
Mr. Hatfield, Superintendent of Schools
Dear Parents,
We have been unable to secure the HS gym before Christmas break due to it being booked for other activities. We want to honor the hard work that our K-2 students have put in, so after some brainstorming, we are rescheduling the concert for Tuesday, December 21st at 8:45am for the kindergarten and 9:30am for the 1st & 2nd grade. We will be holding the concert in our elementary commons. Each performance will be 10-15min. You are still invited to come and listen to your child perform live. If you are unable to attend, we will be livestreaming the concert, as well as posting it to our school website to watch at any time that is convenient for you. We still invite your child to dress up for the performance. You are welcome to have them change out of their concert apparel afterwards if you don't want them to ruin what they have on. We know it isn't ideal, and it may be a little cramped, but we want to still enjoy the magic that it brings in hearing our little ones perform at Christmas time!
