Sigourney CSD and Pekin CSD are excited to announce Kevin Hatfield as the next superintendent effective July 1, 2021. Mr. Hatfield shared that he is a servant, relational leader called to positively impact the lives of students. He is married to his wonderful wife, Lynn and they have two great children, John and Maddy. (Dog Rocky and Cat Ashley!)
“I feel blessed and honored to be supporting the great initiatives and work already happening in the Pekin and Sigourney Community School Districts. My goals are to partner with everyone in an effort to help lead both districts to new levels of success and achievement!”
Kevin grew up in Davenport, Iowa. The members of his family attended public schools there. He was always impressed and impacted by the great teachers and coaches he encountered along the way. These leaders and his parents inspired him to go into the education profession. He attended UNI for his BA and taught and coached in the Pleasant Valley CSD for 14 years. Kevin received his master’s degree from the University of Iowa and became the Dean of Students at Pleasant Valley CSD’s middle school. Shortly after that he became a principal in the Bettendorf CSD. He completed his Superintendent Executive Leadership Certification at UNI and served as superintendent for 7 years in the West Branch Community School District.
