The Sigourney Community School District is looking for a professional to apply for a STEM/Work-Based Learning Instructor/Special Education Coordinator position for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will be 80% Instructor and 20% Special Education Coordinator.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree or higher and OR related experience specific to the roles, functions, and responsibilities of the position. A valid Teaching License with K-6 Elementary Classroom, Special Education endorsement, and Multi-Occupation and Career (MOC) certification or Work-Based Learning Supervisor Authorization is required or willingness to pursue. A PK-12 Administrator/PK-12 Special Education Supervisor License is preferred but not required. At least three years of successful teaching (or comparable) experience is required, previous leadership and supervision experience preferred but not required. Must clear pre-employment background check.
Responsibilities and Job Targets:
STEM/Work-Based Learning Instructor (80%): Lead and oversee all work-based learning initiatives. Work in conjunction with the building leadership teams, staff, administrators and community businesses in efforts to expand future-ready and work-based learning experiences for students. Design and deliver engaging, hands-on STEM lessons, utilizing project-based learning, place-based learning, and fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students.
Special Education Coordinator Duties (20%): The Special Education Coordinator assists with the special education process/programs and supports matters of compliance and specialized instruction. Coordination with staff to support and facilitation of the daily operations involved in district special education programs.
Salary range will be $80,000 - $85,000 and will be based on educational certification, experience, and pertinent expertise. The benefit package will be comparable to positions at Sigourney Community School District, and will include insurance coverage, along with other standard benefits.
