At Sigourney Community School District, we're looking for individuals who can be champions for all students

Coaching Positions

The Sigourney Community School District has the following openings for the 2024-2025 School Year: 

  • High School Girls Basketball Cheer Coach

    • Season starts in November and goes through February

  • High School Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach

    • Season starts in November and goes through February

  • High School Head Girls Track Coach

  • High School Assistant Girls Track Coach

    • Season starts in March and goes through end of May

  • Junior High Girls Track Coach

    • Season starts in March and goes through April

  • High School Trap Shooting Coach

    • Season starts in April and goes to beginning of June

Requirements: Coaching Authorization or License issued by the State of Iowa and must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.


Coaching Authorization Requirements:

  • 18 years of age and a HS diploma or equivalent

  • Concussion training certificate

  • CPR training certificate

  • 55-hour workshop certificate from an approved provider or college coursework which includes the following content: 

    • Structure and function of the human body

    • Prevention and care of athletic injuries

    • Human growth and development

    • Theory/methods and ethics of coaching
