Sigourney Jr./Sr. High School is partnering with ICAN (Iowa College Access Network) to offer a FAFSA Night on Wednesday, October 28 from 3:00-7:00 PM during Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will have food, drinks, and snacks provided. There will be a sign-up link at the bottom of this email.
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the form students complete to determine eligibility for financial aid for college, including grants, scholarships, work-study, and student loans.
A certified ICAN professional will be at the school to help families complete the FAFSA, answer questions, and walk you through the process step by step. They will break it down into small simple steps and it should not take more than 15/20 minutes.
All students planning to attend college, community college, trade school, or another eligible postsecondary program are encouraged to complete the FAFSA. You can also fill out the FAFSA in order to be eligible for some scholarships. It doesn't hurt you to fill it out to see how much you do or do not qualify for.
If you have any questions before FAFSA Night, please feel free to contact me,
